Dr. Babu Padmanabhan
Engineer, Entrepreneur, Researcher, Author and the Managing Director and Chief Knowledge Officer of the STEER Group, Dr. Padmanabhan’s journey began with a vision - To steer a new world and to help create a better tomorrow, through engineering, research and innovation.
He has made immense contributions to the field of polymer processing using twin-screw extruder platform technology. His work in designing processing section components has led to the development of innovative extrusion technology that caters to the global market. With patents on fractional and higher lobed design elements, super treated twin-screw elements as well as fully wiping elements credited to his name, he is considered a visionary in the field of plastics. STEER’s revolutionary Omega platform technology with a 1.71 Do/Di, created under his leadership, sets a new standard for polymer compounds processing.
With Dr. Babu at the helm, STEER, is today, a world leader in materials platform technology that effectively transforms and functionalises materials in the fields of plastics, pharmaceuticals, food & nutraceuticals, biomaterials and biorefining.
Prof. A. K. Ghosh
Prof. A. K. Ghosh is a distinguished and renowned Professor in the field of Polymer Science & Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, India. Prof. Ghosh has over 30 years of research and teaching experience and has 7 patents to his credit. He held the prestigious Reliance Chair Professor at IIT Delhi during 2006-11. He has supervised 22 Ph.D. theses and over 84 M.Tech. Theses. He is known for his accomplishments in the field of Polymer Processing and Rheology, Reactive Processing of Polymer Blends and Alloys, Polymer Packaging and Microcellular Processing of Polymeric Materials.
Prof. Ghosh obtained his M.Tech degree in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (1982) and Ph.D in Chemical Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo, NY, USA (1986). He is Fellow of National Academy of Sciences, India. He is a recipient of Young Alumnus Award of Chemical Engineering Department, Calcutta University and Meritorious Service Award of Indian Plastics Institute, Mumbai, India. He is a recipient of "Teaching Excellence Award" by IIT Delhi in 2015-16.
Prof. Ghosh is an Associate Editor of Journal of Packaging Technology and Research. He is a member of Editorial Board of Journal of Plastics Film & Sheeting and International Journal of Plastics Technology. He is Member, Board of Governors, NIT Delhi and Indian Institute of Packaging. He is elected as International Representative of Polymer Processing Society (PPS), Asian Workshop in Polymer Processing (AWPP) and Fellow of Indian Plastics Institute (IPI).
Mr. Atul H. Kanuga
Atul H. Kanuga, Bsc. (Hons) is the director of Sudeep Industries; a firm manufacturing tailor made PVC Compound. Mr. Atul Kanuga has been highly influential in the field of Plastics for the past 40 yrs. He has been involved in the plastics industry and affiliated fields since its inception in India.
He believes in sharing the wealth of his experience in the field of plastics and environment and that it can be utilized to train younger minds. He believes that the knowledge he has acquired should be shared and should be used as a foundation for the future generations.
He has formally served as a Vice President of Gujarat State Plastic Manufacturers Association (GSPMA). Most recently, he served as the President of Indian Plastics Institute (IPI), at all India level.
Currently he is Managing Committee Member of PlastIndia Foundation and a Chairman of the Environment and Plastics Image Committee of PlastIndia Foundation.
Dr Pradeep K Bakshi
With a doctorate from UDCT in 1982 Dr Pradeep Bakshi rose from being a Research Scientist to Vice President at TIPCO.
He was a director at Performance Plastics and then worked his way up in GE to become Vice President.
As an independent consultant, he has specialised in Engineering Plastics and Compounding and has worked with Dupont, Calco, Ester,Gharda (Now Solvay), Hydro S&S, KLJ, Loxim, Bhavin Industries, Wolkem, PI Industries, Plastichemix (now Clariant), Polylink, Worldtex, SRF, Steer IT, Steer Engineering, Supreme Petrochem, TIPCO and more….

Puneet tantia age 31 years son of mr. Pawan kumar tantia, education b.com(hons) from calcutta university, a young entrepreneur joined his family business in the year 2006. Since then he is engaged in his company m/s chemico international pvt ltd, kolkata, west bengal, india dealing in import & export of pvc resin, speciality polymers, additives, lubricants, stabilizers, plasticizer, master batches, printing ink & paint additives and coal serving the eastern part of india. He had taken the initiative of starting the polymer division of the company in the year 2006 and today his company is one of the leading importers of polymers in eastern india. He is now further diversifying his business in the field of reprocess polymers. His father is associtaed in the business of plastics & leather since 1983 and is one of the oldest dealers of plastic processing chemicals in eastern india.
Mr. Subba Bangera
Mr. Subba Bangera is a plastic technologist from BUDCT(now ICT) & he did his management studies from Bajaj Institute, Mumbai.
He had served in Polychem Ltd as Senior research Chemist, In Garware Polyester Films as Application development engineer, and in ABS Plastics as Application Development Manager.
He was the Managing director of Sidel India Pvt Ltd from 1998 to 2006 . He was made chairman of Sidel India board in 2006.He was also a member of Sidel management Committee.
Mr. Bangera retired from Sidel India on 30th of June 2013, after 19 years of association with Sidel.
Mr. Bangera has presented many papers in local and international events.
After retirement Mr. Bangera acts as business advisors to some key plastic processing industries and beverage industries. He is also acting as advisor to some global companies in different fields.
He is also in the board of PMMMA ( Plastic Machinery Manufacturer association of India). He is nominated as Governing council Member of CGSC.
He is currently the Chairman of Active Biz Solutions Pvt Ltd., providing high end business solution in the field of plastics and beverage industry. Active Biz solution has most modern product & Machine design center providing services for innovative designs and for special purpose machines.
He is wildlife photographer and nature lover.
Mr. Pratik K. Nanavaty
Mr. Pratik K. Nanavaty is a professional with 18 years of diverse professional experience in the Global Chemical Industry, Investment Banking and Ports & Logistics sector, having led cross-country initiatives spanning North America, Europe Latin America, and India.
By training, Pratik is a Chemical engineer from University of Pune-India, a Masters in Polymers/Plastics Engineering from University of Massachusetts Lowell, and has earned a MBA in Finance (with Honors) from The Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University, USA, where he was recipient of the ‘Best Teaching Assistant’ Award.
In his current capacity as VP and Head of Planning for the Petrochemicals Business, Pratik leads a cross-functional team for Business Planning & Performance Management, Strategic Planning and Investor/Analyst Communication functions. In addition to his functional responsibilities and leveraging his passion for data analytics, Pratik is leading a strategic initiative to develop the Analytics Function and Team for the Petrochemicals segment in Reliance Industries Ltd.
Prior to joining Reliance, Pratik worked with the Adani Group, a global Ports to Power and Mining Company. As head of Business Development and Chairman’s Office for the Adani Ports & SEZ business, Pratik led a group wide Business Transformation initiative with Strategy& (formerly Booz & Co), to redesign the Corproate Finance Function & Organization, and spearheaded the development of the Adani Coal Handling Terminals at the Goa and Vishakhapatnam ports.
Prior to joining Adani, Pratik spent 15 years in the USA across The Dow Chemical Company in Michigan and Houston, JPMorgan in New York City and Nova Chemicals in Pittsburgh.
While at the Corporate Treasury of Dow Chemical, Pratik led the Credit Risk Management function for Specialty Chemicals and Global Strategic Planning activities, and was also asked to lead Marketing for Industrial Packaging in North America for a brief period of time. In mid-2008 amidst the start of the global financial melt-down, Pratik was asked to transition back to Corporate HQ when the acquisition of Rohm & Haas was announced, to lead the risk management team for a portfolio of businesses and integration activities.
Prior to Dow, Pratik was recruited from Carnegie Mellon to join the Natural Resources Investment Banking group at JPMorgan with a focus on the diversified Chemicals, Power, and Mining sectors. Pratik advised a global client base on M&A growth opportunities, Leveraged Buyouts and Equity Capital Market transactions aimed at creating shareholder value.
Pratik also serves on the Empowerment Committee of the Plastindia Foundation to help build and bring to the nation, India’s first multi-disciplinary university dedicated to Plastics Technology & Engineering (in collaboration with the University of Massachusetts. Lowell) at Vapi, Gujarat.
His other interests include leading alumni activities for Carnegie Mellon and University Massachusetts alumni chapters in North America and India for university advancement and counseling prospective students. Pratik is an amateur value investor, an avid contemporary art enthusiast and an amateur horologist.
